Lucy & Aidan’s Beautiful Garden Wedding at Flixton House | Manchester Wedding Photographer

A relaxed outdoor wedding at Flixton House in Manchester with a timeless white and navy blue colour palette.
There are weddings that make you smile all day long, and then there are weddings like Lucy and Aidan’s that completely fill your heart.

From the moment I arrived at Flixton House, I knew it was going to be a wonderfully relaxed celebration. Nestled within beautiful parkland in Trafford, this elegant Grade II listed Georgian house combines historic charm with stunning gardens, making it a hidden gem for couples looking for a romantic Manchester wedding venue. The house dates back to the early 1800s and has been lovingly restored whilst retaining its period character, offering a beautiful backdrop for weddings throughout the year.
As a Manchester Wedding Photographer who also photographs weddings across Derbyshire, I absolutely love venues that offer beautiful natural light, gorgeous gardens and plenty of opportunities for relaxed, authentic photography and Flixton House certainly delivers all three.
A Beautifully Intimate Garden Ceremony
One of my favourite parts of Lucy and Aidan’s wedding was how personal they made their ceremony.
Instead of having all of their guests present, they chose to keep this incredibly special moment just between themselves and their two wonderful mums. It created such a calm, emotional atmosphere where every smile, every laugh and every happy tear felt even more meaningful.
Set within the stunning gardens at Flixton House, the ceremony couldn’t have been more perfect. Surrounded by greenery, birdsong and the people who meant the most, they exchanged their vows in the most intimate way imaginable.
It was a beautiful reminder that your wedding day should always be about doing things your way.

A Wonderful Surprise for Family & Friends
Whilst Lucy and Aidan enjoyed their private ceremony, their family and friends arrived afterwards to celebrate with them.
As everyone gathered outside, the excitement was contagious.
Lucy & Aidan were welcomed with huge smiles, warm hugs and one of my favourite parts of any wedding day… confetti!

There is something so joyful about that moment. The laughter, the cheering, the colourful confetti floating through the air… it’s impossible not to smile whilst photographing it.

Afterwards, we spent time capturing relaxed family photographs before exploring the beautiful grounds for some gorgeous couple portraits.
Timeless White & Navy Blue Wedding Inspiration
Lucy and Aidan kept their styling beautifully classic with a sophisticated white and navy blue colour palette.
The fresh white florals paired perfectly with the elegant surroundings of Flixton House, while the navy blue details added a timeless touch that will never go out of style. Sometimes simple really is best.

Why Flixton House is Perfect for Wedding Photography
Every wedding venue has its own personality, and Flixton House has so much to offer couples.
One of the biggest advantages is the variety of backdrops available within a relatively compact space. Whether you’re dreaming of elegant architecture, beautifully maintained gardens or leafy parkland, there’s no shortage of stunning locations for photographs.
For photographers, it’s an absolute dream because we can create a huge variety of images without ever needing to leave the venue.
Natural light fills the gardens beautifully, making them ideal for relaxed portraits, whilst the historic building provides timeless backdrops whatever the weather.
Here are a few of my absolute favourites from Lucy & Aidan’s wedding at the wonderful Flixton House.
