A Dreamy Summer Wedding at Tyn Dwr Hall | Olivia & Alex

As a Derbyshire-based wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky enough to visit some incredible venues — but nothing quite prepared me for the magic of Olivia & Alex’s wedding day at Tyn Dwr Hall.

Nestled in the heart of the Welsh countryside, this luxury venue was the perfect backdrop for a sun-drenched summer celebration that felt like something from a modern fairytale.

The Setting: A Summer’s Day Like No Other

From the moment I arrived, the weather was on our side — 28 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, and a soft breeze that kept everyone just the right side of glowing. Tyn Dwr Hall, with its mix of historic charm and modern elegance, looked breathtaking. The grounds were bursting with colour, and the rolling green hills behind the Hall gave the whole day a cinematic quality.

The ceremony took place outside under the venue’s beautiful wooden pergola, which was draped with cascading pink, yellow and white summer blooms. These florals set the tone for the entire day — soft, romantic, joyful. The scent of roses and peonies hung in the air, mixing with laughter and excitement as guests found their seats on the manicured lawn.

The Couple: O & A

Olivia was a vision. What made her look even more special? She handmade her own bridal gown. Every delicate detail — from the stitching on the bodice to the elegant train — reflected her unique style and incredible creativity. She also designed and made her mum’s outfit, which was equally stunning and such a meaningful touch.

Alex and the boys looked sharp in classic black tuxedos, which added an air of timeless elegance to the day. There’s just something about tuxedos in the summer heat — crisp, cool, and oh-so- stylish.

The Vibe: Relaxed Elegance

Despite the grandeur of the setting, the whole day had a laid-back, almost ethereal feel to it. Olivia & Alex’s love was so genuine and joyful — the kind that radiates outwards and makes everyone around them feel like they’re part of something really special. After the ceremony, guests spilled out onto the lawns for cocktails and canapés, with live acoustic music floating through the air.

The inside of Tyn Dwr Hall is just as photogenic as the outside, so I stole the couple away for a few portraits on the grand staircase and by the huge arched windows. The light in this venue is heavenly for natural-style photography.

Would I Photograph This Venue Again?

In a heartbeat.

Tyn Dwr Hall has everything couples look for in a luxury wedding venue — epic scenery, stunning architecture, thoughtful details, and the kind of atmosphere that encourages real, unfiltered moments between people. From a photography perspective, the light is beautiful both indoors and out, and the layout of the venue allows for an easy flow throughout the day.

But more than that — it’s the kind of place that makes you feel something. Whether it’s the grandeur of the hall, the intimacy of the grounds, or the way the team treats their couples with genuine care, it’s an unforgettable space that deserves to be captured again and again.

Final Thoughts

Olivia & Alex’s wedding at Tyn Dwr Hall was not just a visual dream but an emotional one. Handmade touches, heartfelt vows under summer skies, and a venue that truly lived up to the moment — I left that day with a full heart and full memory cards.

To Olivia & Alex — thank you for letting me be a part of your love story. And to any couples considering Tyn Dwr Hall: if you want beauty, soul, and unforgettable photos… you’re in the right place.
